Carlos Roberto Ferreira, a native of Brazil, is a music instructor and recording artist who now teaches guitar and percussion. He matches teaching techniques to the special needs of his students, stressing exposure to the different types of instruments. He is the founder of the World Music “Culture” program, which explores music and musical instruments from around the world.
One of the instruments Carlos teaches is the Brazilian berimbau. It is a single string instrument with obvious African origins. While playing, a caxixi is held in one hand. Explore Berimbau here.
